a word on control

My child,

So many things are out of your control. But they are not out of My control… they are in My hands.

If you were able to control everything in your life, then surely you would be responsible for how it all turns out. What an incredible amount of pressure to predict all of the variables of life and to protect all of the people involved. Are you really sure that you want to be in control?

Better to let Me handle things.

I can see all of the things that you can’t.

I know what you need before you need it. I have the ability to prepare things in advance for you, to bring multiple circumstances into alignment at just the right time.

I can see whether circumstances have value or not. You measure them by comfort level, but I measure them by their potential to bring you closer to Me and to transform your life.

Think about that beautiful moment a while back… when you were blessed beyond measure, when you nearly busted out of your skin because of the way everything came together. That moment was not orchestrated by you, was it? It was out of your control; it was in My hands, and you were supremely blessed.

Trust Me, child. I have you in My hands. I know all of your circumstances. The dark ones… they will bring the most glory when it’s all said and done. Don’t give up before you see the ending I have planned.

It’s a good one.

Though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand. Psalm 37:24

In His hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to Him. (Our highs and lows are in His hand.) Psalm 95:4

But I trust in you, Lord. I say, “You are my God. My times are in Your hands…” Psalm 31:14-15a

  1. Thank you for these beautiful words…I desire to leave my life in His capable hands, yet I so quickly shrink back in fear when things don’t make sense to me. He knows what He is doing, and by faith I can trust Him.
